Gold body with just a tinge of amber coming through. Filmy head of off-white pancake bubbles. Minimal carbonation. Doesn't look that exciting.
Light vegetation on the nose backed by a slightly unpleasant syrupy sweetness. Bit of hoppiness, but not a lot. There's not an awful lot on the nose at all.
Taste, however, is much better, and it's here that this beer starts to present itself. Very nice pils crispness, hint of crisp Czech-level bittering hops, balanced with a nice clean malt character. Hint of yeastiness on the back palate, but not a lot. Very nice overall, a really nice Czech style pilsener. Mouthfeel is surprisingly smooth, lacking a little bit of crispness that would complement the hops. But nice.
Yeah, this is a pretty decent approximation of a sharp pilsener. Could use a bit more peppery Saaz on the nose, but very drinkable as it stands. On the night, this was probably my pick of the beers at the brewery.
