Appearance- Pours deep red when held up to the light but looks black in the glass. Pours with one finger off white head which quickly dissipates leaving thin layer of bubbles on top which lasts to end of glass with patches of lacing on the glass.
Smell- Sweet chocolate and caramel malts but not much aroma.
Taste- Sweet chocolate malt followed by roast malt, easy to drink and pleasant. Short but it is a mild! A touch of Riwaka hops balances this beer out.
Mouthfeel- The bottle states that this beer is light in mouthfeel and I can't argue with that.
Overall- Light refreshing beer with a sweet chocolate taste. A bit too sweet for my taste but a good session beer with decent flavour for a 4% beer.
Best before Apr 2015. Comes in green bottle.

Harrington Pig & Whistle Mild Dark Ale
330ml bottle dated BB 9 Dec 2014
Pours near black with a decent head.
Feel: Near medium body and nicely smooth; low but adequate carbonation.
Aroma: not particularly appealing; medium and dark roasted malts with a bit of dankness.
Flavor: similar to the aroma.
O: neither one of the better brews from Harrington nor a particularly good example of this style. Acceptable but not recommended.
