Not a lot on the nose but it has a decent head that holds for a while. Feels a little thinner than it looks but the taste is better, and includes coffee and hints of cocoa. The lingering finish of hops and smoke elevate it a bit.

Dark brown colour with a moderate but not long lasted tan head.
Mild caramel and roast notes, mildly fruity. No real hop character.
Moderately roasty flavour with a good chocolate note. A touch of English hop character comes through as well as a nice sweetness. Dry finish.
Medium-light body with moderately-high carbonation. A touch over carbonated.
A fairly good English style stout. Nothing to complain about.

Pours black with a light tan small head.
Nose shows milk chocolate, nutty notes and roasted malt. Quite pleasant.
Very similar flavours, with a lot more roasted character. Somewhat smoky. A bit rough around the edges.
Body is quite thick, carbonation a little high.

was not able to pour this one into a glass, as I was at the Victoria University music school computer lab with my darlin' while she finished an assignment. therefor, the appearance isn't up to par, but I intend to try it again so once I do I will come back and edit this to include that category. also when I say growler, I'm referring to the Kiwi version.
N- Very roasty, malty smell, and a faint hue of some resiny hops, and some caramel and coffee in there as well, but neither very strong, not too weak either though. kind of a unique nose for a stout.
T- rich, chocolate, and coffee flavors, and the caramel is there too, not as predominate as the other two, and a nice mild resiny hop bitterness to it as well.
M- very crisp and carbonated, but not as overwhelming as many Kiwi crafts tend to be. as the mouthful goes on it becomes much more smooth, and finishes rather dry. rather viscous also as one should expect from a stout.
D- it's a sipper, but that's not a bad thing. good pairing for some rich or smokey cheeses, which I'll have to try when I refill this thing, I'm thinking some good ol' double creme brie, or some smoked gouda. also would go well with some hearty meats and even more flavorful seafood. I'm saying this one is a good dinner beer, or breakfast if you do like I do and wake up drinking.

This beer has two clydesdales on the front label pulling a man on a trough and it states its a stout with roasted barley,it pours a coca cola black colour with a creamy half finger head that dissapates to a smog in the middle,it has nice aromas of chocolate, coffee, liquorice and of course some barley notes too,it has a nice thick mouthfeel and has tastes of dark chocolate and coffee and leaves you with a nice bitter finish quite a nice stout and will buy again.
