Drank out of 50cl can, sampled out of a scnapps glass for color.
Look: Thin carbonic head that you get from ginger soda, and the color is about there too, a nice caramel blond. Head dissappears as soon as it arrives on the scene. Clear as a bell.
Smell: Caramel, figs, dates, and sticky cinnamon rolls. Little bit of high-alcohol fumes that comes off the top of a smooth bourbon snifter (very pleasing actually).
Taste: Much like the smell, the beer is a playground of dark sugared candied fruits, brighter fruits esters, light malts, and no discernible hop characteristics. The carbonation bites through the overall sweetness of the beer. Overall a refreshing and quaffable take on Belgian Abbay beers.
Feel: Thin and sticky and bubbly, the least appealing quality of the beer.
Overall notes: This beer is distributed by grocery store chain, Intermarché, but brewed at Brasserie Saint-Omer in Starsbourg. To be honest, I feel as if I've had this same beer from multiple distributors (Carrefour, Casino, etc), but this is my favorite iteration of this product. Best of the Kings Brau product line. In a sea of 'blondes' (the most popular generic beer color in France), this beer shines as a fruity, caramely, and refreshing dubbel.
