I got started on a foreign CAN kick yesterday & since I have a several CANs from this brewery, I have decided to CANtinue with a brewery horizontal in support (ISO) The CAN Quest (tm). Happy Laborious Day, 2017!
From the CAN: "Biere Forte De Luxe".
I had to struggle with the Crack! on this one as she was determined to prove that she was Forte (Strong), but in the end, another Blonde relented to the unrelenting charm of Bro. Woody. I enjoy being gentle, even when they want me to play rough, so I gave it a slow, gentle Glug. Even so, it was happy to provide me with a finger of foamy, soapy, bone-white head. Color was a gorgeous Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity, prompting another visit from The Gelt Gang of Midas, Croesus & Mammon, all anxious to partake. Nose was a bit sharpish, slightly fusel, with a bready maltiness. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, not watery, but not much past it, either. The taste was as equally sharpish as the nose. It had a grainy, fusel flavor, like corn ethanol. It was not as prevalent in its corn taste as some that I have had, but as part of The CANQuest (tm), I have been subjected to enough to recognize it. Warming, I got plastics & pink bubble gum. Ugh. I guess that we AmeriCANs do not have a monopoly on this kind of nonsense, but it does not make it any more palatable, Finish was hot & dry, but in a Lager, this was not optimal. Instead, it marked the beer as one to get the job done. Hmm. I just CAN't get behind this kind of thing. Phew.
