65cl Brown flip-top bottle, from the German supermarket chain of Aldi (in the UK), part of a four pack, all different.
Poured into Franziskaner Weissbier glass, yes, I know it should be poured into a fat tumbler, but I like things different now and again.
Very, very pale yellow, almost lime green, or the colour of the nile, cloudy, with a huge carbonisation and large white head.
Aroma of sweet lemons and grapefruit and nutmeg.
Strange taste, a weak fizzy lemon meringue pie flavour, this is a poor imitation of a style I know a bit about, I travel to Belgium fairly often and my wife drinks Witbiers all the time, I taste them whenever she has one.
An American would call the mouthfeel similar to what a soda would provide, a slight fizz, no body and even less aftertaste.
Saint-Omar is known in Britain for its cheap lager, the town is close to the channel ports and every booze warehouse sells it by the lorry load. This is sadly an extension of the cheap beer trade associated with this brewery, I'll not be buying another.

Quite a strange one this! Purchased as part of a selection 4-pack of St Omer beers (Selection du Brasseurs) promotion sold in Aldi. Tasted on 04/04/07 best by 28/02/08, a 650ml swing top bottle. Poured a murky lemon colour with a white foamy head. The smell was quite strange; definite strong citrus rind with possible hints of nutmeg. Everything okey up to this point. Taste was at first like a sour ale, but as I got down through this one, the taste deteriorated and eventually became fairly dull and lifeless. In fact, I didn't finish the bottle and this is a rare event!
I was disappointed, especially after the other brews in the pack because they were much better.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
