We pour a brew the color of goldenrod. It holds a brief one finger head of fizzy white bubbles. This recedes rather quickly to leave a thin film of lacing around the edges of the glass. Translucency is very high, with no sediment noted. Carbonation appears moderate to active. The aroma is wrought with adjuncty grain and a high degree of tinny metallic notes. There is actually a nice hint of darker spice, and the malts have a bit of an earthiness and toast to them. Despite the lower abv, it appears way near the back of the nose. As we sip, the mouth is accosted by corny adjuncts shrouded in the thickest blanket of metals. The onset is like rolling a handful of quarters around the mouth. These accompany us through the middle, where the grain also persists, but these flavors separate, as if you are tasting two entirely different beverages. Finally, the end brings an enhanced bitterness to the grain, separate from the extreme metallic bite that remains until the last drop. The aftertaste breathes considerably mildly, when compared to the actual flavoring. Here there are hints of cooled, slightly darker malts, and chalky earthiness of wood chips. The body is medium, and the carbonation is rather high. There is initially an inviting froth and smack to each sip, but this subsides quickly as the coiny wash takes effect, drying the mouth to a barren desert. The tongue is also left sticky, with absurd astringent drying. The abv is appropriate, and the beer drinks as easily as liquid tin.

Overall, what we enjoyed most about this brew was how by the end of the glass, the malts seemed to take on a bit of a darker character. At first they appeared eternally pale and adjuncty, but as we progressed there was a maturation, which was appreciated. Ultimately, this beer leaves the drinker’s mouth forever coated with a biting metallic flavor, making this beer less than desirable.

Poured from a 33cl can. Pours a clear straw color with large frothy white head that stays around a while. Smell is malty with a slight hint of carmel and no hops. Taste is much the same, nothing special. Mouthfeel has good carbination but is a little thin. Good for a hot day but not worth seeking out to try.
