Quite a disappoiting place. The location is nice, in an old brick building in Asahikawa. The atmosphere inside is plain and boring: they try to be modern with some of the furnitures, but then they have cheesy flags all over the place. And the sealing is far too high: the place looks cold and makes you feel either bored or depressed. The beer selection looked ok at first, and they have a sampler at a decent price. But I found the beers served too warm, and with insufficient head. As if the samplers were ready at the bar, and the were just waiting for somebody to order them. Then they say on their menu that they won all sorts of contests for their beers. And they don't know how to serve them...

I didn't eat anything, but the menu looked ok. Gengis Khan (grilled lamb) is available on the second floor; that's were all the stupid flags are. Service was fast and efficient. They also sell their beers to go and some glasses, some of them at ridiculously high prices. I guess this brewpub is not that bad, but I expected much more.

Located in an old brick warehouse close to Asahikawa Station, the location and looks from the outside are excellent. However, once inside, it proves to be another Japanese restaurant trying to pose at being a "German style beer hall", complete with corny flags hanging from the ceiling. The atmosphere was thus a combination of faux German beer hall and contemporary hospital interior--pretty sterile. The bar area was nice though.

As for beer, they had six available, which could be tried in a convenient and fairly-priced sampler of shot-sized glasses. Beers weren't so exciting--but they had alot of them. They also had pitchers, which was cool--although the prices were not.

A wide selection of Japanese-style and some foreign pasta and sausage dishes were available at a varied price range. They also had a "genghis khan" (grilled lamb and vegetables...Hokkaido specialty) course plan available. If you order that, you have to sit on the second floor.
