Named for the translation of the hop plant species “Humulus Lupulus” which got its name because it was small but feisty. We think this beer fits that description pretty well. This Pale Ale was brewed with barley, oats, and a fine blend of hops featuring Horizon, Citra and Mosaic.

Pint on draft in a shaker at Inn On Shipyard in Mattapoisett, Mass.
Appearance: Solid copper with a white head. Lot of lace on the way down. Nice looking beer.
Aroma: Citrus, hops, lemon. Smells like an IPA to me.
Taste: Follows nose. Had a nice sharp bitter bite and pleasant fruitiness. A hoppy APA that is pretty close to an IPA, to my palate at least.
Mouthfeel: Worth a slow sip even at a rather low ABV. Smooth, and relatively easy without sacrificing flavor.
Overall: Very nice hoppy pale ale. Recommended.

A coupla mighty 20oz pints, on draft at the Ashland Ale House. This one's a keeper, a nice full-bodied pale ale. and a nice full pour! This is a beer I'd session with.

From a Zero Gravity mixed 12pk. Canned 12/20/23.
Lightly hazy deep gold, with slightly over 1/2 finger of white head.
Smell is lemon/lime soda, orange rind, a bit of fresh, crackery malt, and a light touch of spiciness.
Taste is a vague citrus mix, light green onion, slight kiwi & melon towards finish, that reminds me of their Conehead IPA, but less concentrated, finishing with a hint of the noble hop-like spiciness present in the aroma. Light-moderate bitterness, that lingers a short while.
Feel is light-medium, slightly juicy at first, with moderate, very fine, semi-soft carbonation, that becomes minutely sharp by finish.
Overall, enjoyable, and easy-drinking. At first , it seems a simple, old-school PA, with just the lemon/lime & green onion noticeable. After the head fades, and it warms a little (& maybe I get used to it?) , the other elements become apparent , and on the whole , it becomes more (enjoyably) complex. I like it. I'd get this as a 12pk fridge-filler, if I could find it. :)

On tap at the Depot Street Burgers in Manchester, Vermont.
As the server claimed, you would not guess that this fine pale ale is gluten free. If have to Gove this a hight tasting of tasted against other gluten free beers.

Draught. Light and crisp. Kind of like a hopped lager. Inoffensive. Not bad. Not interesting.

A great session beer!!! Looks good and packs a lot of flavor into a 4.7% .abv beer. Poured from a 16 oz. can into a pint glass, this beer features a mostly clear gold color with just a little reddish tint. It has a big frothy head with excellent retention and lots of thick foamy lacing on the glass. Aroma and taste feature a piney but not resiny aspect and some citrus fruitiness too. Backing it all up is a dry malty backbone. Bitterness is there but light-to-moderate. Mouthfeel is impressive too: crisp and light with a pillowy softness and enough bitterness to keep it interesting. Great to find a sessionable beer that has so much to offer. An outstanding example of a sessionable beer.
