of the two brett pale ales they are currently pouring up here, this is hands down the better of them. i absolutely loved this brew, and it went down real easy. nice mild funk to it, really herbal and dry, and beautifully hopped with what appears to be a number of fruit forward varietals that make this summery and interesting. not sure if its a single brett strain like the other one or if it is a blend of yeasts, but the flavor of it is fantastic, farmy and grassy, slightly woody, like an old hay loft, with fresh wheat and cereals underneath. the hops bring lemon and green apple notes that match perfectly with the yeast, and there is just enough bitterness on the finish. the carbonation is super high, and this could not be any drier than it is, i love that combination in saison types. they have done an awesome job with this one, and frankly it rates up there with some of their very best beers. a perfect companion to the new vermont maple sausage pizza they do, which is in my mind the best pizza in the country without a shadow of a doubt. great stuff

It looks great. Pours a beautiful golden hue. Minimal head. Nice grassy tropical aroma. More prominent than some wild ales. The taste and mouthfeel is where it really let me down. There was some of that tropical character up front, but that was followed by a healthy dose of bready, cardboard brett character that was pretty unpleasant. Overall, I was pretty disapointed because it looked and smelled great but I was let down by the flavor.
