a very simple and nice example of the style with a slight twist.
Pour gives a mahogany based body with a reserved head but some nice lace.
The nose has a twang, perhaps from the spice notes that may (or may not) be present, and a touch of alcohol. Malts start to come through even in the aroma.

Vacationed in Burlington at the end of July so I had quite a bit of brews in Burlington. American Flatbread had about 6-7 beers on their list and then a big list of other beers. So I decided to try out the summer bock. Had a good crisp golden color to it with a nice head that left some lacing behind. Smell was a little bit weak, had some hop kick once in a while, but little on the nose. Taste was decent enough. Some hops kick around the palate with some mild malts finishing off at the end. Had a good light-medium mouthfeel to it, creamy texture. Good to wash down some food.

Had on tap at the restaurant in Burlington. Nice and tasty. Clear goldenrod when served, no real head to speak of. Low whiff of grassy hop aroma. I appreciaated the medium mouthfeel, and the fact that this brew was not overly sweet or grainy. Pleasant and easy to drink, it was a nice and surprising offering.
