On tap at Positive Pie, Montpelier, VT
The appearance was a burnt golden copper color with a slight transparency about it. No head or lace.
The aroma had a beautiful blend of rich sweet caramel/toffee malts playing with some sweet lingering breadiness and a touch of nuts up front. Then a delicate touch of vanilla extract accompanied the back end (not sure if this was intentional, but it worked for me).
The flavor took all of those prior mentioned aromas to blend nicely. Smooth lingering aftertaste of the malts, nuts and vanilla.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied but seemed to sit just a touch under with a fantastic sessionability about it. Carbonation felt nice and low. ABV felt appropriate. Nice smoothness along my tongue.
Overall, nice unique way of doing a Maibock, I liked this take on it and think I could recommend to fans of the style especially if they like vanilla.
