I had this at Siptemberfest served on tap in a glass.
The color is a bronze shade wtih mild haze and light beige head. The smell has an intense smoke aroma like a campfire. The feel is semi-dry with natural smoke in the texture and malt supports it well.
This has a flavor which reminds me of rauchbier from bamberg with nice woody earthy smoky undertone with a nice malt profile which is semi-dry and has a slight caramel sweetness. Overall I loved it and was surprised how smooth it was ..very good representation of the rauchbier style.

Off the tap downtown this beer was a cloudy, honey-gold color with a large, light-tan head. The retention and lacing were moderate. The aroma was light, wood smoke and hints of caramel malt behind that. The flavors were considerably more bold than the aroma, the smoke dominating the palate and the robust malt behind that. Lacking hop balance and rather one dimensional. The smoke lingered all over the finish. The body was medium, the carbonation a little too high and the mouthfeel semi-creamy.

Served in a pint glass at the brewpub.
Pours a clear golden color with a one finger white head with good retention and spidery lacing. Aroma is all about the smoke. Lots of smoke in the flavor as well, starts out with a kielbassa like smoke flavor with some lemon & noble hops flavor in the middle and ending with a bacon like smoke flavor. Light carbonation, medium body, this coats the mouth. The smoke in this beer is well balanced but one is enough for me, rauchbiers destroy my palate. This beer would be great with some really strong cheese.

On tap at the brewpub on 03.01.2008; served in a tumbler.
Pours a clean, slightly watery golden with lots of noticeable carbonation. Half-inch of foamy white head that fades to an intact sheet leaving trails of condensed lacing. Malted wheat with adjunctory aromas: stiff wheat, rice, and corn. Slightly medicinal with musty whaffs. Citrus solvency up front, over malted wheat with a lingering toasted malt sweetness. Phenolic flavors and a musty astringency. At mid-sip is a subtle layer of smoke that is more of an after-thought to a Pale Wheat style than a Rauchbier. Light bodied; annoyingly over-carbonated. Stiff and overactive. It took me nearly a quarter of the way into the pint, for me to really sense the Rauchbier's flavor profile. A tough style to pull off, exhibited quite clearly in this offering.

Noticed this on tap while I was at Flatbread today.
Pours a pale golden color with a one-finger head. Aroma is smoky and a bit roasty as well. Certainly lives up to the name. Taste is smooth and smokey upfront. The smokiness is just about right here and it allows the lager characteristics to shine. Adds a new dimension to lagers. Delicious.
