On tap at Zero Gravity Craft Brewery in Burlington, VT.

This one pours a dark-ish black color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.

This smells like pumpernickel bready, biscuity malt, roasted malt, and grassy hops.

Not unsurprisingly at all, this is a really capable take on the style. Zero Gravity does lower ABV styles so, so well. This has a wonderfully complex little malt character to it - smoke, roast, biscuits, pumpernickel, etc, with a light but firm hop bitterness.

This is light bodied, but pretty creamy, with a crisp and smooth finish.

I'm not at all taken aback that Zero Gravity could do a dark lager well. This is definitely worth ordering if you see it.

This beer is listed as retired, but I picked up a growler of this a couple weekends ago at their Pine Street location. There is a nutty character that really appeals to me in both the nose and taste. Its very smooth and the mouthfeel is medium. Really easy drinking like a lager should be. If they had this beer regularly, I would drink this beer regularly. Worth a look if your looking for something besides an IPA.

8 oz glass, on tap at the brewpub. 3.7%

Pours a deep and opaque black, a bit of red in the edges, very thick tan head forms and slowly settles down to a big chunky ring, tons of lace sticks all over.

Smell is nice, malty, light roast, some biscuit, toast, oats, a bit of caramel sweetness, very clean, light chocolate and licorice notes, a touch of fruit, nice.

Taste is similar, sweet and a bit fruity, cherries, caramel, biscuit, some toast, light roast and some chocolate, a bit of licorice, very light and malty but nice.

Mouthfeel is light bodied with medium carbonation, low ABV makes this stuff easy to drink, nice flavour for such low alcohol.

Off the tap at my favorite local beer-bar this brew was an opaque brown/black color. The one-finger head was tan, retained as a thin skim and left thin streaks of lacing. The aroma was light, toasted malt, pale malt and faint floral hops. The flavors were similar but darker, toasted malt again plus light coffee and hints of chocolate and a little hoppy bitterness that offered balance. The mouthfeel was foamy and watery, the body medium/full and the carbonation light.

On tap in Burlington, VT.

Pours a clear, brownish black with garnet tints against the light. Topped by a thick, beige head that thins to a persistent film. The aromas are light overall, but still pleasing. There's a nice whiff of cherries, some caramel notes, and a nice roastiness on swirling.

There's a light bready sweetness upfront that's met by a toasty malts with some hints of caramel. Roasty throughout with a nice bit of roasted bitterness in the finish. Light-bodied, high carbonation, crisp.

Flavorful and easily sessionable.
