Served in a weizen glass at the brewpub.
Pours a clear light amber color with a two finger cloudy white head with good retention and solid lacing. Sweet toasted malt and lemon in the nose. Toasted malt flavor, biscuity with some lemon/noble hop flavors with some slightly sour yeast finishing with some chocolate malt with a lemon aftertaste. Highly carbonated, medium body this is a smooth, clean, mouth cleansing marzen. Great example of the style, I could drink this all night long.

Pours a orange-amber color with a one finger head and low carbonation.
Aroma is rich with a hint of toasty sweetness.
Taste is sweet and toasty with a hint of smokiness. A bit nutty.
Mouthfeel is nice and toasty. Easy drinking and goes down well.
Very drinkable marzen. I could easily down a few of these.

Off the tap and on -site this beer was a dark gold with some orange highlights. The head was khaki-colored displayed moderate retention becoming a soap-skim ring after a while and moderate lacing. The aroma was rather understated, toasted malt and cereal grains. The flavors were much better pronounced, toasted lager malt, dry grains, some nuttiness and buttery qualities and hints of spices. The combination of nuts and butter and spices reminded me of butternut squash, weird! Though not distinctly bitter it did get more so as it warmed up a bit. The body was medium, the mouthfeel semi-creamy but it was over-carbonated and prickly which threw this off. Otherwise a good tasting beer and good Oktoberfest offering.
