This IPA is ripe for Summer, bursting with notes of peach and lemon peel. A balanced IPA that brings bold hop flavor on the palate, and ends with a sweet little finish. Hazy, blonde, and smooth as can be; turn up your music, take a sip, and enjoy the day.

Zero Gravity Craft Brewery "I'm A Radio"
16 fl. oz. can coded "2 B CANNED ON 04/29/22 07:50"
$3 @ Docs World of Beer, Phila., PA

Notes via stream of consciousness: It's an interesting name, and it's not such a bad label either except that there's not a lot of information about the beer on it. It's an IPA at 6.0% ABV but that's about it. A very hazy golden body is capped by a finger's width of white foam, and lots of tiny bubbles can be seen quickly streaming upwards. The aroma is floral and citrusy with lemon over sweetish and grainy malt and nectarine. There might be some pineapple in there as well but I think that maybe just "tropical fruits" covers it. It's fairly simple but nice. On to the flavor then... I'm getting some apricot and papaya, some pineapple that's like the Lifesaver candies version, and a bit of pepperiness, earthiness, and delicate pine. It's sweetish but it's also firmly bitter, and those peppery, earthy and piney notes linger in the dry finish. The appearance somewhat signals the mouthfeel as it's effervescent but not biting, and medium bodied on the lighter side; that's why the bubbles were rising so quickly. It still has a quarter inch of creamy white foam topping it, and there's some nice fluffly lacing about the glass. Now, for the overall. This is a decent, well-made beer. It's got a good balance to it, and there's enough complexity and roundness to it as well. I am not fond of the hops that they've chosen but that's a personal thing, and to be honest, I'm not even sure why. I guess it has something to do with the fruity notes that are there, and then the way it's sweet but also bitter, and finally, how the soft fruitiness flip flops to earthiness, peppery spice, and pine. I would think that i'd like that but it's just not thrilling me right now. No matter, that has nothing to do with how I'll score it, and I'll even recommend it, it's just not my cup of IPA.

The pour to empty a pint can into a clear glass liter mug airs a dark apricot-amber beer with an overly generous and loosely formed stark white head. The smell is more of tropical fruit than malt and hops. The head subsides unevenly and without much glass lacing. Even before it can be tasted, the thinness and lightness of the body is noticed. This is not an attribute. Unfortunately, there's no great redemption from the taste. Thin can well be used to describe that, too. There's no richly complex malty sweetness, just superficial sweetness. The hops bring a mild bitterness, but nothing more. It would really be a stretch to find a reminiscent flavor that could be properly referenced. It's just mildly bitter, without any character. This is not an enjoyable NEIPA experience and one recommendation would be to not bother to try it.

From a 16 oz can dated 04/26/22. Sampled July 1, 2022.

Cloudy yellow golden look under a long lingering white head.

This smells rather old with it's grainy, bready malt character and pear or apple fruit. Kind of cardboard like

Smooth medium mouthfeel.

The taste is breaded and cardboard. Not very sweet. Just tastes old. Some fruit notes in the background.

Hazy, lighter gold color. Good starting head. Blotchy lace as the beer is consumed.

The smell reminds me of freshly milled malt. Slightly sweet. A combination of floral and white pepper hop for balance.

Relatively thin for a pale ale with an elevated carbonation. The pale malt is weak compared to the bittering hop but does remain present throughout the tasting. Dryer than the smell indicates. The black pepper bitterness peaks at the swallow and it creates a longer aftertaste. Overall, I appreciate the contrast from the malty smell to the hoppy taste.

A: The beer is quite hazy yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down but never completely faded away, leaving lots of lacing on the surface and the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of pineapple and peach are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that the flavors of peach are stronger than those of the pineapple. Little to no bitterness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium-bodied and juicy on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found the aromas and flavors of peach in this beer to be unique and interesting.

Fabulous tasting beer with great mouthfeel. Definitely hazy and smooth. I have not had a beer from this brewery before but am impressed with this one. Great can and look in 16 oz can. Found it pretty fresh and decided to give it a try. Nice head that stays through the whole time I drank it. Yellowish orange color and hazy with a piney citrus smell. Taste follows and beer is smooth to drink

I have a long love of radio, so the name of this was especially poignant. The brew was good, but the name better.

It pours yellow, not bright and with biggish bubbles. The name got the boost in the rating. The aroma is clean but not distinguished. The taste is very middle of the road - not too bitter or sweet. It has the juicy feel we expect from the style.

Recommended. If for nothing else, the name. Otherwise, expect a medium smallish feeling hazy IPA.

Zero Gravity is a good brewery and this beer is not their best for sure. Average in all elements. If the brew warms up it gets better but really not my piece of cake.

Poured from a 16oz can ambiguously stamped “2B CANNED ON 04/29/22” to a Nonic at fridge temp. (Well, was it canned then or not?).
A bright white 1/2-inch head. The body is a medium gold and opaque hazy.
The aroma is of canned peaches but there is a malty, musty background.
The taste is quite peach from front to back. Alcohol is barely noticeable. This is almost a crusher.
The mouthfeel is fairly light for an NEIPA..
I enjoyed this.

Pours cloudy orange gold color with a 2 finger thick off-white colored head that faded slowly and left nice foamy lacing. A faint overall aroma that has a mix of orange, lemon peel, tangerine, melon, caramel, biscuit, mild apricot and floral notes. The taste is a little more robust with stronger citrus flavors like orange peel, pineapple, lemon, tangerine, melon, caramel, biscuit, Skittles candy, sweet malt and floral notes.
