This brand new Double IPA features Citra, Cryopop Mango, and Motueka hops. Bursting with aromas of mango and orange, it is perfectly balanced by a distinct backbone of hop bitterness. Pilsner malt keeps it drinkable despite its big flavor profile.

From the bottom of the can: "02 09:04 11/9/22"

Appearance: The body is a lighter shade of gold with a moderate haze, but it is still easy to see through the glass. The head is medium-large, fluffy, and white. It has excellent head retention and it leaves nice lacing on the glass.

Aroma: There is some grapefruit and a bit of orange aroma. It also has a bit of a floral character which is nice. It smells a bit like sugary gummy peach rings. The aroma as a whole smells nice but it is also fairly muted.

Taste: Candied orange peel comes through at first, then there is this mixture of peach gummy rings and grapefruit. It has a bit of a sugary sweet flavor. The flavors stay consistent across the whole palate, all the way to the finish. It is mostly a fruity and juicy tasting beer with a touch of sugary sweetness.

Mouthfeel: It is a light-bodied beer with about as much bitterness as grapefruit juice. Carbonation feels good. It is easy to drink.

Overall: The beer as a whole drinks closer to an Imperial New England IPA rather than a standard Imperial IPA, although it appears more in the fashion of a standard Imperial IPA. The can states "IIPA" and "DOUBLE INDIA PALE ALE." In a nutshell the beer is outstanding. The aroma is pretty muted but what is present is excellent, and for a beer that is a little over 2 months old and shipped from VT to VA it has held up really well. The flavors are excellent and loaded with citrus and sweat peach flavors. I would recommend it and I would buy it again.

Not at all what I was expecting. Poured into tulip glass and looked like a stinking amber ale! Wasted money again... Lots of head that quickly melted away; just like my hopes for this IIPA. Which, it is not. It is an uncarbonated orange juice with an extremely strong malt backbone.
Not even sure they were trying. Just makes no sense. Not good. Don't drink.

Another likely disappointment begins with another foamy and starchy stark white mess atop the brew. This began as a pint can was emptied into a clear glass liter mug. It turns out the glass lacing was decent and stratified. It should be argued that Pilsner malt, not that it doesn't have its place in brewing, doesn't make a great IPA. But, let's get passed the looks and the outcome they usually predict. The foam recedes quickly, unevenly and unattractively. It leaves sparse and irregular glass lacing. Fortunately, the liquid is a cloudy and rich amber, so there is some minor redemption. But the smell test portends a vague hoppy bite without the good malt counterbalance IPAs, at least the good ones, are known for. The nose knows. This may have some citrus/pine referenced hops, but it's mild and single layered. There's almost no earthiness to the malt body and it runs thinly. Even the hops fall short with their bite in this one. Without a good barley malt backbone, this has to rely on its hopping and that fails. No layering, complexity nor taste transitions, this really provides an IIPA with nothing but a nearly tasteless and bodiless dose of a well disguised 8% ABV.

From the pint can, it pours a hazy amber color with a nice just dirty white head that slowly reduces. Scent is mildly citrus with maybe some mango. Taste follows nose, with a pleasant flavor.

Pleasant but pretty mild DIPA. Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer is a hazy yellow color with a big frothy white head. The haziness is not that dense since you can see the outline of fingers on the other side of the glass. Head retention is good and there are thick, frothy bands of lacing on the sides of the glass. Aroma and taste are surprisingly mild for an Imperial IPA. There is some citrus (mostly orange but a little grapefruit too). The bitterness is fairly minimal. While tasty enough, nothing really stands out. Mouthfeel is smooth and rich. Not a whole lot of bitterness. There must be plenty of malt because it goes down very easy for a higher octane beer, No alcohol presence at 8%. Not a bad beer. Looks good, goes down smooth, fairly nondescript aroma and flavor.

Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass; born on 11/02/22. Pours lager-like yellow with one inch of foam that rapidly recedes; good lacing. Tastes of tangy-tarty mango sweetness with mello bitterness on the end. Decent hop presence. Good.

Poured this into a clear pint glass and the color was like copper. The smell was of malt and some light orange citrus. The taste was like an IPA with some mild heat. Overall, a good tasting beer.

Pours a hazy golden color with a 2F head and moderate lacing.

Smells of grassy, piney hops with some citrus.

Tastes of slightly dank, tart grapefruit and lemon with a lightly bitter and peppery finish.

Medium light body and carbonation. Brut mouthfeel.

This is a very drinkable brew that lives on the tart and bitter side of NE style of juiciness. It's lighter than most Imperial IPA's which is something that I appreciate.

Zero Gravity Craft Brewery IPA - Imperial / Double

Heavy on the earthy and sour tinged pine flavored hops. A bit light and crisp for 2x IPA but with a slight peppery kick and bitter piney tone in the finish. The dry, bitter, tangy effect is pretty ramped up along with a funky, sour-earhiness.
