APPEARANCE:
Rich, golden aura with robust carbonation and active top. Slightly cloudy but colorful and rich.
AROMA:
Heavy malt and grain true to the bock signature. Slightly sweet but very earthy and deep.
TASTE:
Walks, talks and carries the bock title proudly. Just enough caramel malt to produce the sweetness that makes this a great Spring beer. Finishes nicely with a molasses high note.
Nicely done American Maibock that delivers everything you'd expect from Spring.

Enjoyed three 12oz glasses of this (at $5.00 per) last Friday (31MAY13) while listening to a small group churn out some tunes in the back alley at Flatbread...
It was presented in a tall, slender fluted glass. It was colored a pale/golden hue, with a bit of haze. Head was thin, wispy and white, and left decent lacing. Aroma was of bready malts and light sweetness, with a hint of honey and some florality. Had a solid body and a good feel; not much more to say here...
Taste was quite nice! Lots of bready, even slightly toasty, malts, along with a touch of doughy-ness. Light sweetness was all over the palate, and then a solid wave of floral hops arrived to balance things out at the finish, which was a tad dry... As this warmed a bit it became even more inviting. Along with Alewife and a tasty pizza, it was a great evening...
Prosit!

Pours a decent orange/amber color with a one-finger head.
Sweet, crisp malt pop in the nose, which builds my anticipation of flavors.
Sweet, crisp malt within. Simple. Delicious. Not "strong" by any chance. Chewy.
Sweet, chewy texture lingers. It would fit in quite well in germany itself.
What can I say? ZG rivals the Trapp Brewery when it comes to authentic german lagers. This is just another home run for the former.
