Had on-tap at Thirsty Monk Asheville. Served in a pint glass
A- Pours a 99% opaque black color with a 1/4 inch dark tan head that retains well before becoming a thick ring around the edge of the glass and a half sheet of surface foam. Semi-resilient lacing leaves a thick ring behind.
S- Full-on dark roasted coffee with tones of chocolate and vanilla.
T- Starts out with a solid coffee presence but it slowly starts to turn from roasty bitter to hoppy bitter. Still some solid chocolate notes and mild vanilla notes. Drinkability is high while being flavorful to the last drop.
M- Dry with a somewhat chalky afterfeel. Medium-low carbonation and a full body.
O- A stellar treatment to an already great base beer. Could compete with some of the better coffee beers I've had.
