16 oz can from Asheville with a 21 November 2019 canning date stamp on the bottom.
Pours dark reddish-brown but looks essentially black in my snifter. This has an exceptional head that, with a creamy appearance and great retention, gives a strong impression of a nitro tap. The creamy smooth, full body goes along with the nitro impersonation.
This "licorice stout" carries the licorice in the appearance; licorice notes are secondary to smoky and roasted grains as well as coffee notes in the flavor.
