Cask at Aroma's in Athens, GA.
Pours an opaque dark brown color with hints of dark crimson throughout. The head is one-finger of light tan foam that recedes into a thin layer on top leaving solid lacing.
Smells of roasted malts with good amounts of dark chocolate. Very light tart cherry aromas sneak out every now and then but have to wait until the beer warms to really assert themselves.
Tastes good. Roasted malt and dark cocoa flavors up front with hints of coffee. Midway through the sip a good deal of tart cherry flavors enter into things and carry through to a solidly bitter ending.
Mouthfeel is very good. It's got a thick mouthfeel with smooth carbonation.
Drinkability is good. I finished my glass without a problem and could have another.
Overall the flavor profile was much more along the lines of what I was expecting than was the smell. A very good beer and well worth a shot if you see it around.

Phil Phillipon recently stopped by the Perimeter Taco Mac and kindly brought with him a cask of their Duck Rabbit Porter with the juice of fresh tart cherries added.
Appearance: Served up an opaque, dark brown, near black body with a thin, but long-lasting, off-white head.
Smell: Dark, lightly roasted malts with notes of cocoa powder and mild coffee blends remarkably well with the faintly tart, fruity cherry aroma.
Taste: Dark, roasty barley malts yields tastes of cocoa, shaved unsweetened chocolate, and some secondary coffee undertones. Sweet, modestly tart cherry fruitiness from the added juice. Medium amount earthy, roasty bitterness. As the pints warms, it develops a Cinnamon Toast Crunch quality to the taste as well as the nose. Finishes roasty, semi-dry, and cherry-tastic.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-low carbonation.
Drinkability: Well done, Duck-Rabbit. It provides just the perfect amount of cherry taste - you're not recoiling from any ghastly, artificial flavoring and you're not left wondering WTH the cherries are.
