Appearance: Served up an obscured dark brown, near black body with a thinnish, beige head.
Smell: Sharply tart notes of ripe cherries soothed over with malty notes of roast and chocolate sauce.
Taste: A sweet taste of cherries gives way to a tart taste of cherries and subsequent tastes of melted chocolate and roasted grains with an overall earthiness to it. There’s a slight flourish of acetic sourness, but nothing to knock your sour socks off. Finishes dry and roasty with an enduring cherry-tasting tartness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-low carbonation.
Drinkability: Overall, a neat little experiment and an enjoyable brew.

Multiple samples from the cask at brewvival. Cherry flavor become more concentrated towards the latter part of the afternoon. Hazy brown pour, almost still. Vinegar and cherry on the nose. Really tart with oak, chocolate, cherry and vinegar. Dry finish

Cask at the Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting.
Pours a deep murky reddish brown with a fleeting beige head that leaves a small collar and swirl on top.
The aroma is full of sour cherries, tons of cherries, but with a brown sugar and dark chocolate sweetness.
The taste is more of the same, and that's a very good thing. There's an initial sourish tart kick from the cherries but the backbone is sweeter than I was expecting with the caramel and brown sugar holding up strong against the cherries. The finish is slightly tart but also sugary sweet.
The mouthfeel is smooth and less dry and sour than I was expecting. It's got a lingering sweetness that sticks to the palate.
This was one of the top few beers I had at the ACAT as I really like the balance between sweet and tart. Loved it.
