Poured on-tap at the brewpub and served in a shaker pint, the beer is a dark brown, opaque coloring, with a foamy, light tan head that quickly settles out into a sparse coating. Nose of heavily bitter coffee, tangy cocoa and nut sweetness, and some earthy highlights. Very sweet, like a Brown Ale. Flavors are richly bittersweet chocolate forward, with coffee and nut highlights. Pretty balanced and flavorful, with a subtle char undertone and earthy highlights. Dry, light bodied, with a roasted and bitter aftertaste. Dry, click finish. Solid beer.
