Alchemist's Oatmeal Stout

A: Pours an opaque yet still clear very dark brown approaching black in color with light amounts of gentle carbonation along the surface of the beer and a moderate amount of dark cola brown highlights. The beer has a quarter finger tall thin foamy head that quickly reduces to small patch of very thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of chocolate and roasted malts with a hint of sweetness.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of chocolate and roasted malts with a light to moderate flavor of milk chocolate with the included sweetness. Light amounts of roasty bitterness that lingers through the finish.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly thin but still smooth.

O: This beer lacks the traditional creaminess and fullness of body that I have come to expect in an oatmeal stout. Very enjoyable flavors and aromas with well hidden alcohol - easy to drink.
