Appearance: Arrives the color of Chinese duck sauce, capped by an inch or so of foam; stringy lacing lingers
Smell: Lactic tones that combine Dr. Pepper and duck sauce; sugar cane sweetness underpins
Taste: Lactic throughout, with the Dr. Pepper flavor prominent, at first; the herbal element of duck sauce combines with sugar cane sweetness, stone fruit and tart apple; the finish is tart and sweet
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation; somewhat puckery
Overall: One of the most popular beers at the Charlotte sour beer festival in 2015, this one needs to hit the bottle; I missed it at that festival and was pleased to see it appear serendipitously today when nobody was around; if Fonta Flora or Wicked Weed released this folks would be lining up but Natty's just hasn't figured out how to market its sour program; folks are always amazed when they show up at sour beer festivals but for the rest of the year it is pretty much under the radar
