Brought this home with my load of growlers after visiting the brewpub for the first time today.
Poured a murky, deep and rich brown in color. The color of very fertile earth. Pours with a thick head that rolls around my Aventinus glass very prettily. Little spots of lace. Nose is strong with cloves and milder banana.
Very chewy in flavor (something I noticed with several of this brewpub's beers). Wheat comes out as the base but does not stand out among all the other flavors. Picking out load of cloves, bananas, dried apricots and some candied sugars. Full mouthfeel that might be just a tad towards watery--but just a slight tad. Nice overall but missing something--which I cannot quite place--that would push this beer over the top.

Appearance: Arrives at the table with a dark prune juice color; not much head at the top of the pint glass and nary a strand of lace
Smell: Prune aroma with plenty of bubblegum and banana
Taste: Starts with a fruity banana-prune-caramel flavor that is somewhat bready; nice bitter elements after the swallow but a bit of a phenolic twang on the finish
Mouthfeel: Medium to thick body with moderate carbonation
Drinkability: A decent effort, but I prefer Natty's ales

Poured a murky deep amber with a one finger white head that left a nice sheet of lace behind, aromas are spot on to the description of this brew clovey, lightly smokey with a hint of nutmeg.Flavors are quite sweet up front very clovey and spicey with a real bubblegum characterisitic to it,pretty big and in your face flavor wise.Very flavorful if not complex went down very easily, another fine job at Natty's.
