16 oz can from the brewery pub in Greensboro NC.
Appearance. Hazy amber colored body with a tall, durable, foamy white head.
This is an exceptional DIPA with a generous grain bill that well matched to the hops. The aroma is characterized by tropical fruit notes while the grains also appear in the more complex, slightly dank flavor.
Excellent, smooth, soft but lively mouthfeel.

A: Pours a very lightly hazy golden orange in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation slowly rising from the bottom of the glass and some apricot + honey highlights. The beer has a finger tall dense foamy light beige head that reduces to a medium sized patch of thick film and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of caramel malts with a moderate amount of sweetness underneath moderate to strong aromas of pine, herbal, and citrus grapefruit pith hops.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of bready and caramel malts with a moderate amount of caramel + honey sweetness. That is followed by strong flavors of pine, herbal, and citrus/grapefruit pith hops. Moderate amounts of bitterness that lingers through the finish.

M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly chewy with moderate amounts of dryness in the finish.

O: This is an enjoyable DIPA though a touch sweeter than I prefer - very typical hops flavors and aromas. This is a big beer with well hidden alcohol but I do not think that I could have more than one of these in a session.

Bottle > Pint Glass

A - Hazy gold orange one finger white fizzy head, no lacing.
S - Sweet candied orange, lemon peel, grapefruit, big caramel malt.
T - Very sweet, lots of candied fruit flavor, tons of caramel malt.
M - Cloyingly sweet, mildly bitter.
O - Tastes like a more intense version of NG's American IPA, which still isnt good.

Pours a cloudy orange-amber with a bright white head that settles to a skim of foam. Nice scattered lacing as the level settles.

Aroma is fresh, fruity and citrusy.

Mouthfeel is good for a DIPA, not too thick like some can be. Carbonation is solid.

Taste is unusual compared to other DIPAs I've had, due to the predominant flavor of overripe oranges as opposed to the more standard grapefruit or pine. Strong hop bite with enough malt base to give some balance. Slightly boozy alcohol heat at the back end. I like the taste but I can imagine it would be off-putting to many who expect a more traditional DIPA.
