a: shaker pint serving, dark mahogany brown in color, topped with a light layer of carbonation, looks nice
s: dark malt fruits - raisin, dark caramelized malts, slightly nutty and woody, sugary but not overdone, mildly hopped, good start
m: carbonation on the lighter end of things, slightly chewy medium-heavy body
t: full maltiness - loads of heavily caramelized sugars, dark fruits, burnt nuts, sweet with some papery hops providing just enough balance, glimpses of woody cocoa, nicely flavored
d: no problems, lower in abv for the style but without flavor compromise

On tap at the Lager Haus here in Greensboro, poured pours a deep brown with some ruby tint with a smallish light brown tinted head.Aromas of brown sugar and molasses dominate with some underlying prune/raisin with not much trace of alcohol.A bit thinner than most of the style I have had but not watery thin, flavors of caramel and brown sugar stand out a touch of rum in the finish lingers.Pretty solid doppelbock here not a world beater but quite good.

Compared to the double bock I had last night (Samuel Adams') this is much better.
Dark amber color. Semi-strong malty nose. The taste was much more subdued than the Sam Adams version. The alcohol was better hidden, but then, this is a lower % beer than S.A.
Not too watery, not too thick. Pretty much just right as far as the mouthfeel goes.
Not one of my top 5 favorite styles, but this is one of the most interesting selections you can try at Natty Greene's (or at least when I was there).
