Had on tap. Murky reddish amber with a beige collar, first DW I have ever seen without a head. Smell is grainy with toasted brown bread, slight clove, and wheat, very minimal potency. Taste is sweet, caramel and banana lead the bread and wheat that seems to be broken. Feel is too malty and thin, but wheat does round out the finish at least

Tap at Raleigh pub.
Pours a brownish amber color, white lacing head.
Caramel, wheat and a hint of banana in the nose.
Taste is notably wheaty with some banana esters and a bit of tartness.
Medium body with soft carbonation.
An interesting dunkel, not in the normal flavor area I'm used to from this style. It works well. Don't know that I would go looking for it again, but I wouldn't turn it down either.

On tap at the brewpub, enjoyed coming back from Thanksgiving vacation down in GA. Served in a pint glass. Arrives a hazed garnet, topped half finger of fast fading fawn cream. The aroma is faint and neutral, with hints of roast and spice/banana yeasty notes, but nothing that really grabs me. It's equally (if not more) faint and neutral tasting, with shallow malts (dull caramel), faint, under-ripe banana, and almost no spice. The mouthfeel is probably the best thing about this beer, with the carbonation providing a fair amount of lift and the thickness and residual sugars combining with the aforementioned to make for a fairly creamy body. A very average dunkelweizen, a style I recently enjoyed the heck out of while over in Germany - though I imagine my palate did change slightly, I also think this is just a sub-par beer.

This beer came out a dark brownish-amber with a thin beige head on top. The glass was full to the brim, so there was little room for any foam. Scents of banana bread, wheat, mild clove, and a light sour note.
This was a fairly full-bodied beer with a decent carbonation backing. This was pretty standard for the style as far as flavors are concerned. Some mild banana, light spices, bready finish. It just was underwhelming is all. This was a one-and-done for me I think. Most likely won't revisit this one any time soon.

Served from tap into a standard pint. Poured a brown-orange with one-finger white head that subsides to minimal. There was no apparent lacing evident. The aroma was comprised of malt and wheat notes. The flavor was of malt with an aftertaste of wheat. It had a medium feel on the palate and was low in carbonation. Overall this was a very nice Dunkelweizen. Spot on for its style, but the brew left me wanting more. Could be great...

Poured from a growler into weizen glass.
A - Amber with a slight haze, not as murky as it's German brethren. One to two fingers of light tan head fall to a thin cap rather quickly with no lacing.
S - Heavy on the overripe banana with a light backing of dark bread. Slight clove note on the back end. Pretty good, but not enough of it.
T - Quick sweetness early on with vague and fleeting notes of banana. The brew abruptly changes direction and showcases it's wheaty sourness with mild bready notes in the background. Ends with a mild bitterness, a quick spike in sourness, and a good bit of lightly toasted grain in the aftertaste.
M - Light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Decent enough but a bit more creaminess would've done this brew good.
D - Well, it isn't a particularly remarkable dunkelweizen but it does better than many American interpretations. An easy drinking dunkel that skimps on the banana/clove/bread flavor but gets the job done.

Came in a standard pint glass so you wont get the proper pour for the style but it came a hazed light to medium rudsset brown with a thinner but well retained white head.Clove spice mainly in the nose nothing else really maybe a hint of toasted grain but just to one sided, flavors are dominated by the clove spice flavors with a toasted base but no smoke and or banana here. Not bad but it lacks alot of qualities of the style,a little ho hum here.

Apearance is a muddy medium brown with a great head, but the thick-looking body is a little off-putting.
Huge banana in the aroma. A little bit is acceptable, but this is too much. Had to have been fermented too warm.
Again, lots of yeasty characteristics from warmer than usual fermentation, but not as strong as the smell would have you believe.
High but smooth carbonation, slightly sticky.
A bit of a miss from natty's, but one that could be tweaked and be really good.

The beer was served a deep amber that had me asking the bartender if she served me the right beer, it was dark for an amber, but much lighter than I expected for a Dunkel. The aroma had some wheat beer characteristics with a hint of caramel. The beer had a good blend of sweet fruits with dark malts and a hint of earthy hops. The beer was light and very easy to drink. I must say, a truly unique beer.

On Tap at Natty's
Great color, light muddy brown almost orange.
Aroma- sweet, some estery notes,
Mouthfeel- light malty backbone and the wheat gives a slight bite but gives way to wonderful yeast flavors. The banana and clove notes are revealed witha nice froth on the palate. Hops are very light and I'll agree with muddyfeet that they are earthy if not minty. Finishes clean, very quaffable. Only good things at Natty's

Everything about this beer is subtle like velvet.
Pours a dark amberish brown in color. Hazy more than cloudy. Light does peak through. But rather in littles spears it emenates through as if it was a light bulb. Just shines when held up to the light. Nose is prdominantly wheat. Like dark wheat bread. Just some hints of cloves poking around the edges.
Wholesome flavor. During footbal they talk about "them cornfed boys." This beer is just so full. Had to slow myself after I realized I almost went through a gorwler in just over half of the USC-UM Rose Bowl game. The wheat just jumps out and is chewable. Then burst of banana, clove and citurs come out to balance out the wheat. Hops are very mild and rather mint-like. Will definitely have to head out again soon for this beer.
