I had this on tap at the brewpub in Greensboro.
A: Poured out an extremely dark, chalky brown, with about 1/3 finger head that stuck around for a while.
S: Just like most of Natty's brews that I've tried, this one didn't have much of a nose... maybe a bit of mothball-esque German malt.
T: This was quite malty, with a mild bitter finish and a prune-like undertow. Tasty and went down fairly easily.
M: Like I said, this was bitter, but not too. The carbonation was nice and prickly and the lacing was only slight.
O: While this was nothing really special, it was a really nice example of the style.

This beer has an exceptional color in an amber red. The head on the beer from the tap is a pearly white and is very thin. The smell is not overbearing but delightful to give added pleasure to the taste. The smell is warm with a roasted malty finish. The taste of this beer by appearance one would think that it would be a full bodied beer, but the flavor is that of a mild brew and it has an exceptional taste. This is beer is smooth with a crisp finish. The mouthfeel is great this beer hits you palate with a medium carbonation level and has a great flavor that isn't overpowering.
Overall I would highly recommend this beer to any novice beer drinker because it would help to open their eyes that darker beers aren't pleasurable. Because this beer is highly enjoyable.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at the brewpub.
Pours brown with a slight off white head. The nose brings forward some caramel, light brown sugar, roast, and mild fruits. The taste doesn't add too much, as there really isn't much going on other than a basic malt presence. What is there is pretty nice. Good body and carbonation, although there's sweetness with only a bit of roast to balance. Drinks fairly well.

Poured from the tap a deep chesnut brown with atight thinner off white head,a great malty nose to this one, brown sugar, carmale, and slight roasted notes.Man this beer went down easy and smooth as all get out, flavors of caramel and molasses up front,a grainy feel to it,with just enough drying in the finish from being overly sweet. For the style this was a great beer and a real quaffer.

Deep, bold brown color with ruby highlights. There's a ring of head around the edge of the glass after the initial rush fades. It clings to the glass and stay the whole time. Only faint wisps of lacing.
Lots of basic malt aroma, some roast, no detectable hops but that's all to style, for sure.
Again, lots of malt in the taste but the roast comes through to delicately tell you this is much more than a run-of the mill tap beer. Great character.
Highly carbonated even after a night in the growler. Bubbly and light mouthfeel despite the full taste.
This is a great beer for when you want to have a few but you still want flavor. The low ABV, lightish body and present but not overpowering flavor all add up to be a great drink.
