Summerfest is a tasty lager with medium body, a solid 5.2% ABV, and a subdued hop profile. To get that subtler hoppiness, we use a blend of noble hops, the old European originals that have defined beer for centuries.

The malt strikes a perfect balance with the noble hop blend. The result is a medium-bodied, highly aromatic, German lager that’s nice and clean. Not a lot of craft brewers bother to make a Dortmunder, but we think its clean character and all-day drinkability make it decidedly worth the effort.

On-tap at Natty Green's Pub and Brewing Co., Greensboro, NC

A: The beer is relatively clear yellow in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with just some specks of bubbles on the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light aromas of wild flowers are present in the nose.
T: The taste has flavors of crackery malts along with associated bits of sweetness and bits of wild flowers.
M: It feels medium-bodied and clean on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. The cracker malts lend bits of dryness to the finish.
O: The floral essences and flavors and bits of sweetness makes this beer more interesting compared to Dortmunder Lagers.

A: a darker gold with traces of amber, very little head.

S: mostly malts and barley, but hints of hops and light fruits.

T: similar to the smell, malts are foremost evident, but hops sneak up on you.

MF/D: a lacking mouthfeel that seemed flat (though it wasnt), not my first choice for a sessionable beer.

Met a friend at the brewpub last night and this was the first of two of their offerings I tried that night.

This came out a transparent dark gold with a very thin white head on top. Nothing there to warrant retention. Little lace stuck. I appreciated the fact that, though there was no head, this glass was full to the brim. More beer for me! Scents of sweet malts, dry grains, and just a smidge of grassy hops.

The mouth was underwhelming. This sort of style needs to be crisp and refreshing. This offering lacked the carbonation level to make it crisp. Rather, it was a tad bland and thin. Where it lacked in some areas, it made up for in flavor. Very nice lager here. Grassy notes start it off. Some mild bitterness from a light hop presence, and the finished with a mealy grain flavor. I liked it. Drinkable? Heck yeah. If it wasn't for their large selection last night, I'd have had more than one of these.

T he annual summer seasonal at Natty's.Came to the table in a standard pint glass a a dull straw color with a thinner white head atop, aromas were of light fragrant hops and a bit of toasted grain.Flavors are toasty with a tinge of iron,a real noticeable lemony flavor comes in late.No frills but really well made and highly drinkable on a warm NC summer day.

Served on draft at the downtown location. Pours clear and golden with a small, filmy white head. Aroma is slightly fruity with some corn like aromas. Flavor is really quite fruity. Light berries, blueberry. Almost like fruit loops of Frankenberry. Slightly sweet. High carbonation and easy drinking. Kind of sweet for my tastes but lots of fruitiness and low abv make this an easy drinking summer beer and would really go over well with the "in between" crowd. Not bad.
