Pours near black with a thin khaki-colored head and a bit of lacing. The nose brings a good amount of resinous pine hops with some roasted malt. Taste is bitter with pretty good hops. The malt bill seems to interfere a bit and the pine doesn't interact with the roasted malt like I'd like for this type of beer. Feel is nice with a good body. Drinks quite well and was one of their more impressive offerings.

One of a tri fecta of new beers at the brewpub.Poured a cherry cola color witha thinner wispy tannish colored head atop,a mix of bitter chocolate, roast, and pine resin in the nose, not one element really stood out but it was decent enough.Flavors are quite dry and roasted with bitter chocolate flavors mainly, the piney hops come thru late but dont pack a heavy punch. Its not a bad beer but the hops seem to be a bit light.
