I tried this beer on tap at the Brewery
A: Nice dark reddish color.
S: Very strong malty smell.
T: Very strong alcohol taste but still very flavorful. Strong malt presence with hints of hops after swallowing. The alcohol taste lingered as well.
M: Nicely carbonated and full bodied.
D: Strong beer but still very drinkable. This is my favorite beer I have tried from there. Worth the trip.

As I worked my way through the lineup I stumbled upon the wee heavy...oh how i love a good wee heavy.
Poured a rich hazy hazelnut brown with a minimal tan head that faded fast but had a nice overall full look to it. Rich aroma of clove and heather almost, with a solid base of caramel and nuts. The flavor was a bit sharp, not as polished, but very mush in the game. Started with a light fruity note, hints of hops, piney almost with a nice earthy tone to it and a rich caramel note. Lots of nutty tones in the fnish with lots of fresh flower like flavors mixed in. Nice creamy bosy with a smooth easy drinking feel
Overall this was a solid effort and probably one of the top three I tried today,. This one will hold up well and I look forward to grabbing a growler of it the next time I head up there.

Many thanks to enola for seeking my help to rid his fridge of a growler.
Pours a cloudy brown with some red hues in it. Weird looking head. Looks like a disappaited bubble bath. The bubble bath went down the drain before I could finish typing the sentence.
Odor is smokey and nutty. Also kind of has a woodshop aroma.
Taste is very malt heavy. Somewhat roasted. A bit nutty. There's a lot of smoke in the flavor. Would be a good camping beer.
Mouthfeel seems to be medium bodied, but somewhat watery, if that makes any sense.
It's not a bad beer, but only fair as far as drinkability goes. It has a bit of the harshness that I've found in their other brews.
If in N.C. I would recommend Duck-Rabbit's or Highland's Wee-Heavies over this one. With that being said this one is worth a try.

This beer poured a nice deep reddish brown. There was a small head. The smell is a bit like caramel. The taste is sweet with an underlying smokiness. The mouthfeel is good, the alcohol lingers. The drinkability is good. Probably the breweries best effort. I would drink this again.

The beer arrived on the bar clear amber golden wtih an off-white head which lasted well to lace the glass.
The aroma was malty with a strong caramel presence and a light bit of spicy phenolic.
The flavor was lightly malty with an apple fruity character and caramel.
The finish was malty with a lasting caramel flavor into the aftertaste. The body was medium and a bit watery. The beer just seemed to lack complexity, body and alcohol for a 7.5% beer it came off at a 5%. Ok, but missing complexity.
Pint at Guadalupe.

I poured this beer from my Heinzelmännchen growler into a pint glass. It pours a cola brown with a ¼ head that quickly fades to a fairy ring with no lacing. Little carbonation. The nose is of nuts, malt and honey. The mouthfeel is medium with a bit of fizz. The taste is smooth and very light. It tastes lightly of honey and malt with a nutty aftertaste. As the beer warms it has a light bit of hops bite near the end. It could use a bit more flavor, this comes off a bit light but isnt bad at all. One of my two favorite beers from this little local brewery.
