North Country Brewing
Das is guit
Look: pours a medium brown with a chill haze. Off white head forms and leaves lace down the pint.
Smell: Munich malt, caramel and flowery hop.
Taste: Richly malty, with caramel, toast and toffee notes. Very fresh tasting, with ample tea like, mildly lemony hop. Finishes even, with a clean balance of sweetness and earthy bitterness.
Feel: Medium bodied, smooth, well carbonated, easy drinking lager.
Overall: A solid alt, with a firm maltyness and fresh hop flavor. A perfect beer to drink with cheese and pretzels, or bratwurst.

Sampled on-tap at the brewery, this interesting selection pours a cloudy orange amber with a nice frothy head that leaves some good lace.
Mild on the nose. Clean with a bit of hops. The malt isn't terribly overbearing and there is a hint of fruit/citrus in there as well.
The flavor is initially of sweet toasty malt that fades in to some nuttiness. A bit of cider and citrus is present as well. Lots of grain and buttery bread in the finish. Pleasant and well constructed. Not what I was expecting, but very nice.
Clean, smooth mouthfeel with a slightly matted texture. Moderately dry finish. An interesting selection. Certainly worth a try.

Part of a 5oz sample platter.
This was my frequent guzzler reward for buying a 6 for $6 sampler - a freebie sample!
A very high tight, cream colored head clung with nice lace on a ruddy, warm tea color beer. Nose was wisps of bread & yeast - very inviting. It was very even & smooth, much like the Paddler's Pale Ale, with more malt than hops present (although the hops present were sweet). It was perhaps too even, with only a slight twang on the throat as a counterweight to the tongue. That said, it is very drinkable & safe and worth trying, but don't expect to be blown away by it.
