Served on tap at the brewery.

A - Poured a very cloudy amber color, 1 finger of white head, medium lacing.
S - Nice citrus juice and peel, pine, and a sweet fruity and bread malt scent, some earthy undertones.
T - As this warmed up, it got better, the simcoe comes out a bit more at a more moderate temp, nice citrus fruits, some dried apricot, and a decent caramel and bread malt, but for a pale, the malt is too much, which is no surprise from any other NCB brew.
M - Fuller for a pale ale, but rather refreshing, good lingering flavors.
O - To date its the best thing Ive had from NCB, but its still a far stretch from "really good".

UPDATE: Had this 6-8-14 and it was flat out awful. Baking Flour taste and aroma was all through this, just flat out awful. This thing wasnt even close to a pale.

Smells sweet with a nice hoppy scent underneath the sweetness. A hint of lemons but not a whole lot is really here.

The taste starts sweet but quickly theres a bitter, grassy, piney hop character. I freaking love Simcoe hops. This is on the hoppier side of pale ales in taste. Tastes a tad hoppier than a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Mouthfeel is pretty good, really smooth.

Finish is great with a subtle to mild hop lingering around to remind you of the great beer you just drank.

Beer is in Fact, Not retired. Purchased on Cinco de Mayo 2011 at the one place you can get it, Slippery Rock, PA. Overall, great beer. It was funny when I let my friend Ben finish off the growler he was shocked that the ale still tasted good as it warmed. To which I reply, "That's the difference between all grain and adjucts"

A. Poured from a nitro tap. Nice cascading effect as I drank. Dark gold with a nice head and lace.

S. Earthy hop and some caramel malt. Hints of pine cone and candy.

T. A wonderful experience of simcoe laden malt. Hints of pine, fresh cut hay and some citrus. Add the nitro and you have something special.

M. Creamy hop goodness. First time I've tried a somewhat hoppy beer on nitro, Im all about it.

D. This was a rare treat and definately want to repeat the nitro tap idea with some Bell's two hearted, or better yet, Ill drive back to North Country and grab a keg!

Poured from a fresh growler and hour old into a 20oz nonic glass. Mirky medium amber color perfect for the fall day it was drank, had a 1" creamy bone white head that fell to a constiant creamy layer leaving a sticky coating down the glass.

A very fresh moderate pine aroma with some grassiness and a touch of metal.

The taste starts off with a nice piney velvety texture with a light touch of carmelled malt and some nuttiness,earthy/minerality with a tobbaco leaf flavor near the finish leaving a clean dry minty feel.A very tasty ale that was exceptionally smooth and easy to drink.
