Refsvindinge Vintersolhverv is brewed to mark the darkest time of the year with a beer that warms and adds depth. It presents itself in a dark chestnut brown color with a dense head and an aroma that offers malt, caramel and a touch of dried fruit. The taste is full and complex with roasted notes, sweetness from the malt and a rounded spicy character. The alcohol gives a pleasant strength without seeming heavy.
The beer is suitable for cozy winter moments - both with food, a cheese board or as a glass on its own. Refsvindinge Bryggeri has created a beer that combines Danish tradition with the taste of winter's peace and contemplation.

Copenhagen 16/6 2018. 33 cl bottle from Skjold Burne, Brønshøj Torv, Brønshøj. What I suppose is the brewery in snowy weather on the label.
Pours very dark brown with small off-white head. Settles as lonely looking patch of thin foam. No lacing.
Aroma is dark and sweet. Sweet dark malts, lightly roasted, brown sugar, tobacco, hints of salty licorice.
Light carbonation and surprisingly thin texture.
Flavor has rather strong sweetness.. Followed by lighter bitterness driven by licorice and hints of coffee. Bitter aftertaste.
One of the better Christmas beers from Refsvindinge.
