Swing-top growler provided via trade by meathookjones. Thanks for the opportunity.
Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 1" dark brown head over the opaque dark brown/black brew. Frothy head fades down to a dense layer of foam, and leaves lots of sticky lacing. Aroma is intense, creamy coffee. Amazing nose hits you as soon as the bottle is popped. Taste is creamy chocolate sweetness, which fades into some coffee bitterness, and that flavor lasts and lasts in the mouth. Mouthfeel and drinkability are both superb, with maybe it being a little slick for my tongue, but that's almost trying to create a fault. A great intro for me to this brewpub's offerings.

Pours out a thick pitch black with a tall tan creamy head. Plenty of sticky rings of lace were left as this was consumed. HUGE roasted malts and coffee aroma. Behind all that roastiness is a bit of bitter sweet dark chocolate. The taste starts off with some more dark chocolate before all the roasty notes take over. Bitter coffee with a light underlying malt sweetness. This really packs quite a roasty punch and seems to stay with you for a long time. Finishes with a long lingering bitter roasted coffee. Pretty thick body with a slick feel. Very smooth going down and really drinkable stuff. Great all around beer with a nice full flavor that I will be drinking much more of.
