Swing-top growler provided via trade by meathookjones. Thanks for the opportunity.

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a 1 1/2" dark brown head over the opaque dark brown/black brew. Meringey head holds on strong, and leaves sporadic sticky lacing. Not sure if I could want more for appearnace than we find here, maybe a bit more lacing, but this is definitely splitting hairs. Aroma is sweet, yet roast coffee malts. Taste is the same, milky sweetness cutting the coffee bitterness to an optimal level. Mouthfeel and drinkability are both excellent. I think everything has been helped by the fact that the growler was received today, sat outside in the rain, and then dwelt in my fridge for 3 hours. End result is a perfect temperature for much enjoyment. More people need to get and/or review this Thoroughbreds place.

Pours pitch black with a tall tan head that leaves some silky sticky lace around the glass. Plenty of roasted malt with some underlying bitter sweet chocolate in the nose. Sweet with chocolate, cream and some roasted malts to cut through the sweetness. Nice balance between the creamy sweet nice and bitter roast. Finishes up on a bitter roasty note with a lingering sweetness. Smooth and silky feel with more than enough thickness and a surprising amount for a 4.6% beer. Ridiculously easy drinking and it goes down effortlessly and the low alcohol really makes this a great stout session beer.
