Appearance - Pours a fairly clear amber with a small, off-white head (despite an aggressive pour). The head has almost no staying power but does leave a decent lace. The color is quite nice.

Smell - Lots of malt sweetness with some overtones of honey, and mild citrus aromas from the hops.

Taste - Some malt flavor and malt sweetness along with a mild fruity presence. Picking up an odd citrusy/bittering hops flavor at the back of the tongue.

Mouthfeel - Medium body. Good carbonation level. Coats the mouth nicely, leaving a lingering, citrus-hop aftertaste.

Drinkability - Not bad. Not great. Not a oggd example of the style, but drinkable.

Poured into a pilsener glass it is fairly lifeless, especially when you rate it within the style. Most pale's I've come across have a big head and are fairly well carbonated. This has a little spark of a head on the pour but quickly steps aside. Decent lacing with each drink. Copper, slightly cloudy.

Tastes very similar to the blond offering from this brewery. I would say its heavy on the malt side but more accurately it leans towards the malt side, meaning its not "heavy" on anything, the sweet malts dominate but its because theres a lack of any balancer here. When I grab a pale I expect it to be at the very least refreshing and I can't say this one does that.

Notes: Completely unimpressive from start to finish

poured in a Stone IPA tulip (hope this is not a sacrilege) from a 12 oz bottle (received from BOM club)

color is copper with a light tan head, looks fine

aroma is grainy with little or no hops and fruit

flavor is similiar to aroma with bittering hops on the finish, very smooth drinkable and refreshing. No aromatics or yeastprofile to speak of, very clean. I like this.

A- copper color, with little head. Not too impressive
s- fruity, and flowery
t- tastes like how it smells plus the hops and sweetness
m-feels ok. it is beer afterall
d-if i had the chance i would drink something else, but this would do.

It tastes a lot like an average American micro. There are a lot better stuff out there that are in the same ballpark.

Pours a clear reddish copper colour with a smallish white head. Slightly sweet, hint of hops but very little else. This beer lacks any sort of character. Just seems like a safe beer suitable for the mass market. Some fruity and biscuity flavour. I could pass on this the next time.

Pours a clear copper colored ale with not much of a head.

Smell is fairly malty with a roasted grain and a mild herbal hop scent. Faint fruitiness.

Taste is a little sweet with a little malt flavor and a fairly stout hopping level to offset. A bit of roasted malt in the taste. Fairly herbal hop flavor. A bland version of a pale ale that really tastes a lot more like British bitter. The carbonation level is low like British bitter too.

Mouthfeel is OK.

A completely forgettable beer that OK to drink but I can't really recommend unless BMC is the only other option.

Presentation: 12 oz short bottle. Neck label has a short description of the beer. Spot for freshness info on the label, but it isn't marked.

Appearance: Pours a slightly cloudy red orange color. Decent size head with good retention, and lots of lacing.

Smell: Aroma is slightly fruity, with some underlying biscuit malts.

Taste: Smooth mouthfeel with low to medium carbonation. Taste is a bit too sweet for me. Lots of caramel malt in there as well. There is not enough hops to make this as crisp as I would like in an APA.

Overall impression: Not a bad beer, but I won't be seeking it out again.

Pours a pale amber brown, with a thick ivory head with great retention, even maintaining some misting with this bag of potato chips I'm eating.
Aroma is malty and very bready. Smells a bit past it's prime, although none of the freshness dating on the label is marked off. Hops are very mild, surprising for what i expected. No real fruity aromas, mostly a bready, grainy malt.
Flavor is also malty, with the same old grainy texture. Hops are mild and english styled. Body is lighter than I expected, with soft carbonation. Not much in the way of estery flavors, just that breadiness, which isn't all that pleasant. Aftertaste is also very malty and sort of chewy. I think the beer is a bit old.

A slightly hazy copper body displays brass highlights when held to the light. It's short head of creamy off-white foam holds well and leaves rings of lace with each sip. In the space between the rings tight patches of spotty lace form, leaving what appears to be a "wall" of lace. It's quite nice, but unfortunately doesn't stick throughout the entire glass. The nose is also unique in that it displays a toasted malt character not normally found in pale ales. It's unexpected, but interesting; and a swirl of delicate, spicy and floral hops adds enough character to keep you coming back to it. The body is medium, and it's lightly crisp in the mouth with a very fine and moderate carbonation (bottle conditioned, perhaps?). The flavor delivers a generous dose of grassy, spicy and floral hops wrapped in rich, biscuity, mildly toasted and caramel tinged malt. A firm bitterness anchors it and lends to a dry finish. A short note of lingering caramel-glazed malt, and some longer lasting hop flavor and bitterness give it a memorable aftertaste. Refreshing in its uniqueness, and quite flavorful!
