08/15/07- Purchased at Healthy Spirits in San Francisco, CA.

Presentation- 22oz bomber with no freshness info on the bottle. Poured into my Troubadour tulip.

Appearance- Golden in color pour with a larger 1.5 inch or more large bubbled foamy head. Reamins at a full 1/2 inch at all times while drinking. Leaves behind chunks, streaks and patches or lace.

Smell- Sugary sweet and tart at the same time scents of apricot mainly, but also blackberry and raspberry. Kinda like a fruit cocktail.

Taste- Flanders like tartness, but also a sugary flavor of mixed fruit. Apricot leads the way with some sour tangerine and blackberry. Tropical tea like flavor at times. A light annoying metallic flavor hoovers in the background for almost the entire beer though.

Mouthfeel- A bit overcarbonated with a light metallic tart aftertaste.

Drinkability- If that metal taste could be eliminated, this would be one kick ass beer. As is, it's pretty damn good. Great fruit flavors and wonderful tartness. Would be a great summer brew if they made a few changes.

A one time blackberry flavored release from Farmhouse Brewing.

Pour: 22oz bomber to tulip. The beer comes out a hazy apricot skin color topped by a quickly receding one finger white head that at its peak is large bubbled and fizzy and disperses to an even coat of lace and halo.

Nose: Mouthwatering tartness and extreme fruity aromas. The sour notes of brambles combine with the sweetness of the blackberries along with hints of sour cherry. Hop aroma lightly present.

Mouth: Like it smells, sweet and sour. Puckering when it enters the mouth, almost like a wild yeast beer, and as it travels back and warms the fruit flavors come out to play. Carbonation is crisp and just right, making this a light and very drinkable beer for the depth of the flavors. Unfortunately everything is tainted by a metallic accompaniment that is undesirable. Still, very drinkable.

Notes: according to the brewer this was made with the gueuze style in mind, but a regular Belgian yeast, not spontaneous fermentation, was used.
