This glowing red winter ale left me somewhat puzzled as to whether it was flawed in it's execution or just didn't appeal to me. Most likely it's the former as I just can't imagine this beer is a sincere expression of its intent. It is tangy, funky, and muddled, especially in the finish. Midway across the palate it tips to the malt with a spoonful of simple sugar. The aroma suggests spoiled fruit but is unconvincing in its efforts.

Sure, the body's smooth. But so is cough syrup, which this beer reminds me of.
