Downtown Joe's Tail Waggin Amber Ale...on tap at their pub
Appearance-dark red to almost light brown, gray lace disappears almost completely.
Smell-malty initially, doughy, alcohol as well, slight spice, not much else
Taste/Mouthfeel-surprisingly heavy, medium to heavy mouthfeel, tad bit of spice up front but balanced well between breaded malt and hops, a darker roasted aftertaste almost gives a porter impression but it's still light enough for a lager. Taste fades quickly, ok smoothness.
Drinkability-heavier than most ambers, that's it though.
Overall-a decent amber, again it's heavier than most, it goes just fine but doesn't really stand out.

This is nothing special, but it's a good, tasty, well-balanced beer.
Its' deep red with some brown, with a smallish pale tan head, soon shrinking to a foamy ring and wisps, leaving a little weak lace.
The aroma is mostly malty - fruity, caramelly, toasty - with some hops, mostly citrusy.
The taste is similar: malty with caramelly grain, toasted cracker, along with light fruitiness and light citrusy hops and a hint pf pine. It has light sweetness and light bitterness to balance. The flavours are light and fairly standard west coast, but good, handled well, and they are persistent and consistent. The flavour holds up well and the body is pretty good. It's quite drinkable.
