Poured on tap into a pint shaker. Minimal tan head that goes pretty quick. Smells of roasted malt. Taste hits all the notes of a good basic porter. Taste of roasted malt, chocolate and very little hop presence. Would drink this one again. Another good beer from Joe's.

Sampled 4/29/2011 at the brewpub.
Pours hazy very dark brown with some beige head that laces nicely but doesnt last all that long.
Aroma is very roasty (too much almost) but balanced somewhat by the chocolate and the bread aromas.
Flavor is too roasty to warrant a higher score but it does have a nice chocolatey and malty background flavor and not too much hop bitterness even though the roast contributes a fair amount of bitterness of its own.
Body is lightish and decent if you can handle lots of roast.
