classically styled and very light, this was a good drinker on a hot day, a quencher for sure, maybe not as food versatile as the best of the style, perhaps too light for big flavors, but its well executed and something pretty agreeable. very pale yellow in the pils glass with an average white head but wonderful clarity and rising carbonation, looks champagne-esque. the aroma is minimal to me, lightly european on the grain side, mineral forward, with softly floral hops and not a whole lot from the lager yeast, good proportions but very restrained as these go. the flavor has some back end spiciness from the hops, seems noble to my tastes, lightly grassy, herbaceous, and more robust than it is in the nose. the malt remains real light, as does the yeast, slightly doughy up front, real clean and fast finishing later, minimal in a good way. this is beer from drinking, and if it wasnt for them having so many other choices to try here, i could have ploughed through a half dozen glasses of this. neat spot here overall, better beer than a lot of these restaurant first sort of places tend to have, both in terms of quality and ambition, and i was impressed overall. definitely on the lighter side of the style, but highly refined and professional, nice for high summer.
