I sampled this beer on tap at the SF brewpub a while ago, but only recently found my notes. This ale poured a dark amber color with white foam. The smell was malty with a touch of spice. The taste was malty with a very light touch of spices and a strong hoppiness (even more hopped than their IPA). The mouthfeel was clean and light with medium body and modest carbonation. This was a nice winter ale.
