On tap at the GABS festival in Melbourne, May 2014.
Pours a straw colour, slight haze to it, with white bubbly head, webbed out around the edges. Not bad.
Smells lovely. Bags and bags of NZ hops giving apple, lemon/lime, passionfruit and tropical pineapple. Absolutely gorgeous fruity punch packed into such a tiny package.
Taste is where the shortfall of that low ABV is. Slight buttery tinge to a caramel malt base, gets a slight apple/pear fruit note from those NZ hops, but it's really just very slight and the yeast character is dominant on the back. Very light, and a little cloying.
Watery body, no texture at all.
Inevitably flat and boring. I respect what they're trying to do and love the aroma they created but it just can't make up for such a light and flavourless brew.
