A 500ml bottle with a BB of Aug 2018. Given to me a while back as a gift from NZ. Described on the label as an immense New Zealand IPA hopped with Nelson Sauvin, Riwaka and Pacific Jade.
A: Poured into an IPA glass. A rich orange-marmalade hue with good clarity and plentiful carbonation. Yields a huge head of creamy white foam that lasts for a few minutes before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Nice lacing.
S: Aroma of intense fruity hops with hints of citrus, peel, pine resin, weed, mild tropical fruit, leafiness, caramel malt and ale yeast. Very nice.
T: Tastes of powerful resinous hops with notes of pine, weed, citrus peel, grapefruit, subtle tropical fruit, leafiness, faint grass, caramel malt and ale yeast. Slightly sweet, followed by a strident hop-driven bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with lively carbonation and good body. Quite astringent; hop oils stimulate the palate. Aftertaste of bitter aromatic hops, pine, weed, citrus peel, mild tropical fruit, caramel malt and ale yeast.
O: Excellent - an avalanche of hops assault the senses. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are stuffed with bitter, resinous hops underpinned by caramel malt and yeast. Nice body. Goes down a treat; well worth sampling if you love hops.
