Poured from its 330 ml bottle, it appears a hazy golden yellow hue with some decent white froth which receded rather rapidly. The aromas released are typical of a hefeweizen or wheat beer - some cloves, plenty of malt, and some vanilla. Despite what others have experienced, I did not detect any banana or spices in there. Taste is solid malty, very much in line with its style. Overall, a solid decent hefeweizen.

Golden, peachy orange with large and small bubbles in the carbonation. Topped with 3 fingers of off white head.
Cloves, banana, canned peaches. A hint of plastic toy.
Bananas, cloves, diluted canned peaches.
Light body, bold and spicy carbonation.
Got in Chiang Mai at Central Food Hall, drank Aug 6th, 2016. Not bad, but not overwhelming.

BOTTLE: 330ml. Brown glass. Pry-off crown cap. Purchased at a Tops supermarket in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
5.00% ABV.
Aroma of wheat, vanilla, clove. No banana or orange peel here.
Taste follows, but the flavour isn't particularly fresh or deep. Wheat, subtle vanilla, subtle clove. Built conventionally but not impressively, lacking the balance of superior expressions of the style.
Mouthfeel is smooth, wet, medium-bodied, and overcarbonated. Unrefreshing.
Drinkable and approachable, though not as refreshing or interesting as style paragons. Less vanilla and more of an orange peel emphasis would be preferable. A worthwhile brew from Tuatara, but not one I'd want a six pack of on a regular basis.

The first sampled from a mixed six-pack of Tuatara's staple brews, aside from the APA which I have tried previously as a single (also happens to be my very first beer review on this website). The hefeweizen offering is a cloudy bright yellow brew with a fairly massive white head that settled quite quickly. Potent, forward aromas of banana and vanilla, as advertised, with some spicy phenolics noticeable as well but clearly taking a back seat to the fruit. I think I detect a little orange citrus as well. Taste is much the same, assertive banana, floral vanilla, and a pleasant malty backdrop like faint caramel ... More clove flavors emerge on the palate as you go, adding a much needed complexity and bringing this closer to a classic German example that does not shy away from the polarizing spice flavors. Hints of a lemony sourness ... Faint smoke like burnt stubble. I agree with the comment provided by another reviewer: This is like a creamy banana milkshake but with a few minor bells and whistles. All in all a very well-executed weizen and I'll go on record and say that I love what Tuatara stands for: Craft takes on traditional styles with a little local character. No frills or gimmicks, just great beer. No, I don't work for them.

330ml reptilian bottle.
Aroma: banana, clove and vanilla with bready overtones.
Flavor: banana, clove and vanilla with some wheat. Tastes like Weihenstephaner Hefe -- not entirely surprising given use of thier yeast strain.
Feel: crisp carbonation; light boy but not watery.
O: a very good German style hefe with a slightly bolder flavor than average.

A - straw golden, clear and very bubbly, thumb of head fizzled but retained due to the constant rising carbonation
S - bready and grainy, banana yeastiness, lighly leafy and metallic, just a touch of adjunct aroma
T - similar to the nose with a little spiciness creeping in
M - very clean and well carbonated, just a touch of breadiness towards the end
O - an effervescent summertime treat to be sure, too bad I'm surrounded by snow
