Poured a coppery amber, topped with a one finger bubbly off-white head, leaves bits of lacing but mainly the head falls as a mushroom cap on top of the beer.
Citrus, woody, floral, fresh and clean aroma, very nice.
Nice toasty and biscuity malt background, citrus and floral with a woody note, and floral aftertaste.
Medium-full bodied, creamy smooth and lip tingling. Looks like everyone else hated it, but it was a great cask when I was there.

On cask at the brewpub...
Slightly hazy dark amber color, nice speckly head of 1/2 an inch. Huge sticky laces going on. By the way, excellent serving temperature. Orangey aromas, citrus oils, aroma hops seem apparent here. Carbonation is very low, almost like a sweet and sticky tea, but a little cloying and could be creamier, maybe. In the flavor department, there is balance, but lots of guns on each side that are pretty obvious, a sugary sweetness and fruitiness to the malt to balance an aggressive hoppiness that is distinctly grapefruit in character. Before that, its a lot like a fruit cocktail from the little cans in your lunch box. A beer the brewer undoubtedly had fun with but its an oddly slick brew with a real saccharine quality.

I was really looking forward to trying this beer when I saw it listed on the board. A fresh double IPA straight from the brewery. I have to say, I left a little disappointed. It poured a light copper, clear color with a creamy off-white head, and a nice lace. The aroma had a hint flowery hops, but I expected more, and that is the theme of this beer. Where are the hops? It did display great lace and head retention. Now to taste: It needs more hop. You could get a hint up front, but that hint drops fast. Light mouth feel, very drinkable. For something labeled “Imperial” and stylized as a double IPA, this is disappointing.

Clear, light caramel brew forms a thin, foamy white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma is piney @ cellar temp with citric fruitiness. Taste is piney, with notes of pear, and maple woodiness. Very odd. Fruity, sharp, cheesy with a moderate malt content. Mouthfeel is dry and sharp with a medium body. Extremely harsh, not at all drinkable, way over-hopped with resin & shellac overtones. Anybody can throw a shitload of hops into a kettle with some malts, run it through a hopback, dry hop it and call it an IPA. That is exactly what this is. A completely unbalanced, ugly-face-making brew.
