Man this is another old ass review from back in the day. As the reviewer before me (a cool guy) noted, this has some cool artwork, and the awesomeness kind of stops there. 1/2" of head on top of a dark amber appearance. The aroma is a dark bread winter warmer kind of vibe.
Taste was more winter warmer than strong ale. The spice rack was notched up on this one, making it even less like a strong ale. Toffee, brown malt, alcohol. I wasn't much of a fan of this one either.

Cool sun and moon on the label. A bready spicy aroma.
Taste, too much winter spice in the aftertaste, really jumped out at me. A degree of hops for the style, a degree of alcohol for the style as well. Not sure exactly what is English about this beer, other than the hopping isn't immense and it carries that woody spice aftertaste at times.
Wynkoop stuff always seems to be on the short end of the value $.
